My 6 month old 1/2 collie 1/2 husky mix was a handful and I was just about ready to give up, but I chose Midwest Dog Trainings Board and Train option and couldn't be happier! Ronin is a different dog and stays right by my side! He doesn't jump up anymore, he doesn't jump and scratch my 4 yr old and no longer jumps on the furniture! I am one happy owner. The drop off and pick up make it an easy option when you are busy. Not only is our household much calmer, but the chaos is gone and my other dog is not stressed anymore. Thank you Midwest Dog Training! Valeria Vosburg Gonzalez, Minneapolis, MN

My 6 month old golden retriever Duke! Duke was very hyper active, a jumper, and would not take commands! Chris and Midwest Dog Training was definitely the right choice! It's only been a day, but the change is like a dream come true! Duke takes all commands; sit, stay, place, wait, and lay down. He does not jump at all and respects personal space. My wife has an in home daycare in addition to our three children and Duke was not able to be around the kids until Chris came to the rescue! Duke is calm and can interact with our family at all times now! Just after one day of being home, no collar or leash and he is taking every command and also performs all further training that Chris and Midwest Dog Training set us up with! Thanks again and highly recommended!

"I can't say enough good things about Chris and the work he did with our Maggie.  Just returned from a 2 mile walk up the gravel at our Minn cottage with no lead.  She hangs around the cottage with no supervision just like she knew what to do to pleas us!  Took a pup with no discipline and made things fun knowing what was expected.  Go to a restaurant and sits quietly under the table.  By far one of the best investments I ever made."

"Our 6 yr old Labradoodle and 1 yr old Bouvier have been home 3 weeks after training with Chris.  We are very happy with their new dispositions.  The Labradoodle no longer pulls on the leash.  The Bouvier has calmed down quite a bit and no longer jumps.  They both come when called and know "off" means "off".  We have no regrets and know we all benefitted from the training they received at Midwest Dog Training.  Considering they were boarded for three weeks, the expense was on par with any other we've found in our area.  Thanks for following up with us Chris and we'll be in touch if we need more assistance.  Highly recommend you and your training techniques."

Callie Chocolate Lab"I am so do pleased with the training my chocolate lab, Callie, received at MDT.  She is now the most well-behaved 12 month old dog!  Her issues with dominance, not listening and jumping are non-existent and walking her is now a breeze!  If it weren't for Midwest Dog Training, we might not have been able to keep her.  It has been 4 months since she was trained and we couldn't be happier with the results!  Chris even came to our home a second tie when we needed him to help us (not the dog) with being assertive owners.  Thank you Chris and Grant!" "I can't remember the last time I had customer service to a point where I wanted to brag about it, and completely recommend a company.  Chris has been amazing.  I can't thank him enough for what he's done for my family and I.  He has bent over backwards to ensure our happiness with his training.  He had spent numerous weeks with our Mastiff at no extra charge.  He was compassionate and timely pick up and drop off.  He ensured we knew how to continue to utilize his training.  No matter how long it took.  He offers to stop by and "check in" with our dog and training, even being miles away.  Needless to say, he's been so great and his customer service and pure compassion for what he does is unparalleled.  Highly, highly recommend!" - Christina O. - Omaha, NE

“Got my wife a Cockapoo as a gift not a liability. This little guy was destroying my house, chewing anything that would fit in her mouth, peeing on area rugs, jumping all over, using walls as backboards, ruining paint and bolting every chance it got. Called Chris with skepticism about his claims. What he said seemed to make sense, so we decided to roll with it and give it a try. Now the dog is much more attentive, mellowed out, chews toys not us, and off-leash control is great! My wife can now enjoy the gift as I intended! Thanks Chris! So far so good and getting better! Money well spent!” – Greg Wesley, Kansas City Chiefs

"I wanted to thank Chris at Midwest Dog Training for training my new American Bulldog puppy. Because of my busy schedule I chose the Board and Train Program. Before the training Ali chewed up everything including my socks! After the training he is now “Sock Proof” and a well rounded pet." Sincerely, Fred Smoot (MN Viking’s Player 2006)

My 2 dogs CoCo (boxer mix)and Winston (akita) have been excellent at following direction since their stay at Midwest Dog Training. They were both runners and jumpers, now they can stay in their place for 40 minutes if needed. I also received excellent hands on instructions when he returned them to me.

"Our beloved dog had become quite food obsessed - 'surfing' the kitchen counter, taking food from kids, and even jumping on tables! It was getting to the point where taking him anywhere or having guests over was becoming impossible. With the food issue and his tendency to bolt as soon as the front door opened, my husband began researching dog training facilities. He found Midwest Dog Training and immediately wanted to send our dog for the 3 week training. I was EXTREMELY skeptical. I was not at all happy about the idea of sending our 'baby' away to a place that I had never even seen and I was convinced that no training on Earth was going to change his behavior. I was SOOOOO wrong and I could not be happier with our experience. Our dog has again become a part of our family rather than a nuisance. We are able to leave food out without constantly worrying about him taking it. We are also able to have him off leash outside without worrying about him bolting. I can't tell you how much of a joy it is to be able to open the door without fear of him running away! The e-collar works very well and the more we work with him, the better that he is getting. I definitely think we will be able to stop using the collar within just a few months. Thank you Midwest Dog Training!!!!!!!!!" Shanti E – Coralville, IA

"It is noon on a Monday and the neighborhood is bustling with cars, people, mailman, bikes, runners and squirrels. This used to be chaos for me and my dog Moose, a 15 month old Chocolate Lab, but not anymore! After 3 weeks at Midwest Dog Training I am able to stay relaxed in these situations which used to cause large amounts of frustration and worry with my dog. Moose would chase squirrels, run after people, bark at bikes, run across the street and if I he was on a leash my arm would about rip off! The guys at Midwest Dog Training worked a miracle, and improved my life so much. Moose now listens to my commands on the first try, stays by my side outside, does not jump on people who walk in the door, has not chewed up a thing in the house and does not bark or whine out the window. Before training, I could not take Moose for walks or runs because he would pull to hard and be too distracted with people or dogs or scents. Now I can run, walk and even bike ride with Moose, not even having to avoid dogs or people! Our life is completely different and we are forever grateful to the guys at Midwest Dog Training! Thank you!" Kim D. – Vermillion, SD

"Midwest Dog Training did an exceptional job training my 1 year old Standard Poodle. She was hyper and destructive before we sent her to a Boarding and Training Session. After the 3 week session she is now allowed in the house to interact with our family and she is calm. We have a 19 month old son and she is very gentle and respectful towards him now. Being able to spend more time with our dog has improved the quality of our life, as well as, hers. She listens to commands and NO LONGER jumps, bites, chews, digs or pulls on a leash when we are walking her. I recommend Midwest Dog Training in Sioux City to anyone who has a new puppy or adult dog. Valerie Sanchez Testimonial 2 NebraskaI'm writing to tell you that Sweets is going so well! I've really been working with her on "wait" and she's sooo good at it now, when before Midwest Dog Training, I could barely get her to focus for more than ten seconds. Sweets barely ever needs her collar, only every once in a while when she needs a little reinforcement. Sometimes she's still nervous on walks, but she much more confident now and that will come with time. This is to be expected because she had zero socialization for nearly the first year of her life, that's work for ME to do with her, and we work together on this. I am sending you a picture that shows the most rewarding thing to come from sending Sweets to you for three weeks. She was so unruly before that my 11 year old Great Pyrenees would never have stayed near her if she came near him, especially on the couch. He'd simply go off in a corner to get away from her. Now, all I have to do is snap my fingers and say "nice" and she settles down immediately...for reals! Both of them snoozing on the couch together is simply sooo wonderful to me!!! She's only 18 months so she's still like a bull in a China closet, but that's a giant breed puppy for you, and I didn't want her changed, just able to focus...and that's what I got. I thank you so much, Sweets is on her way to being the best she can be, we're all so happy! Valerie S O'Neill, NE

Our dog was untrainable.  We had done the classes but our dog would still jump on the counters, bark when people would come over, jump on people, chew the walls and not stay off the furniture.  Now, we can actually take our dog places with us.  We can invite family and friends to come over.  I would recommend this place to anyone.  Chris will train you how to train as well.  You can call him anytime.  This place is more than worth the money!

Our Rotti/black lab mix, Sam was aggressive toward dogs on leash time, and to dogs walking in front of our house. He rarely followed commands when we left the house. After 3 weeks at the training center, Sam came back home well behaved, responding to our commands (even by my 10-year old daughter) on the house AND outside. It's as if we now speak the same language! Life with Sam is so much better now, with much less stress on walks. Sam is now am off-leash sitting on the driveway with us, runs along with us while we roller blade and walk/run. He barks appropriately when the doorbell rings and then backs off so we can answer. The change is miraculous! What a blessing Midwest Dog Training Center is to us. Thank you!

Thanks to Chris and Midwest Dog Training, our four-year-old German Shepherd, Kodi, has a new lease on life. After an unfortunate and accidental incident when Kodi was a puppy, he became aggressive toward other dogs making us uncomfortable taking him out of the house. He was difficult and dangerous to walk. Now, after three weeks with Chris and his staff, Kodi is following commands, listening intently, and behaving appropriately. Tonight Kodi went on his first walk in 3+ years and he did amazingly well, even when growled at and challenged by another German Shepherd. Thank you, Chris! We could not be happier with Midwest Dog Training and everything you were able to accomplish with Kodi. I will highly recommend you and your facility to anyone I come across who has issues with their dog(s).

We just got our 3 yr old bulldog back from Midwest dog training. Before she went she was uncontrollable! She was extremely aggressive towards other dogs, wouldn't listen to commands, jumped all over our furniture and people. I could never take her for a walk because she would pull me down the street..or would try to kill a dog. All I can say is Chris is a miracle worker! It is like night and day since we got her back!! I actually took her out for a walk today and it was enjoyable! We even came upon quite a few other dogs. I had to command her to get back because she did lunge but she LISTENED to my command! We've always loved our Asia girl but this makes our relationship so much better. Thanks to Chris and his awesome staff for making her the dog we always knew she could be!

We just got our 3-year-old lab mix, Cooper back from Chris at Midwest Dog Training and he is so much better! Cooper is a very high energy dog and his stubbornness can come off as dumbness. Before we sent him to Chris we had to shout, scream and keep him home. He now comes on command, walks like an angel next to us and is eager to please! I would highly recommend the group at Midwest!

Our 7 month old Bernese Mountain dog was hard to control, didn't listen and was mouthy before we sent him here. When he returned he is seriously like a different dog! He listens to us, can be walked without a leash and is so much better with our other older dog. He is getting more calm when guests arrive as we work with him. He actually cuddles with us now too. I'm so glad we sent him here- it has taken so much stress out of our lives!

Sent our 15 week German Shepard here she was on the go at 110% 24/7 and didn't like to listen. We got her back and she loves to cuddle, listens to our 3 year old daughter, AND has not even attempted to bite once. I called multiple times asking how she was doing and the staff was always extremely nice and gave us an update on how she was doing. I highly recommend Midwest dog training to any dog who may need it! Amazing what our dog is like now!

My husband and I just got our 9 month old great dane back from Midwest Dog Training, and we couldn't be happier with the results. Thanks to Chris and his kennel attendent, Gracie now knows all commands, can be completely off leash, and is a more well rounded dog. Their expertise in dog training is worth every penny! Thanks again guys, and look forward to future business!

I do not write many reviews but I am amazed with my Shiba Inu after getting her Trained. Ginger wouldn't listen or obey any of my commands. I knew when I bought this breed of dog that they were stubborn but I didn't expect a lot of biting furniture, running away when off leash, wouldn't listen and would pull me when walking. Immediately after trading my Shiba is a new dog. I can walk across a busy street and she will stay until I command her to come. No more biting furniture and plays a lot. I would recommend Midwest Dog Training to anyone. Well worth the money!

Before Sissi left, she spent most of her time in a kennel because she was so out of control, walks were hard to do, she would bark at and chase other dogs, children and people, she would loose leash walk it was always a battle and in the house she would get into everything, she would listen to commands. She came home today and we could have a conversation without growling or barking, she walked calmly. of course there were a couple of corrections as she was so excited to be home but is so much better. She is laying quietly next me while I write this review. This could not be done before she left. Thank you Chris for all your help!!!

"We had 17 people over on Friday night, including 2 wild little boys and another dog.  Jack left everyone alone, no jumping, barking or bothering. We had food out on the counter and all night long he didn't try to get anyone's food!  It was so awesome!! We could enjoy our guests and didn't have to worry about the dog!  Before having him with you guys, we never thought he could be so well behaved!  Just so excited and had to share it with you!" "Hello, Chris! Okay, WOW. I just wanted to let you know that things are going EXTREMELY well! Bo, Lilly, and Charlie are amazing. I can take them outside without a leash and they all obey every command. Gracie mostly freezes, although she does come when called, and that was my big thing with her. That, and house training. I am taking your good start and continuing to work with her on crate training. She did not sleep with us last night, but instead stayed in her small crate with no bedding. During the day if she is is unsupervised, she is crated. Our foster puppy, like all kids, is just doing what the other kids do. So, because everyone is behaving, I guess she thinks she should behave, too! It helps that she is a German Shepherd mix, and already was obeying off-lead commands (and she's only about 15 week old!). Alex is delighted about Elliott. He is able to take Elliott in out in public and not worry about having him under control. That is astonishing. I don't think it is an exaggeration to say that you have changed our lives. Thank you so much for everything!!"   Gratefully, Robyn Porter

"I cannot even begin to explain the difference Midwest Dog Training made for our home, our family, and our dog Buster. It's an entirely different environment in our house since Buster came home from his 3 weeks of boarded training. Grant picked him up from our house and returned him to us along with training Joe and I how to continue Buster's training here. He learned SO much....but even more than that, his entire demeanor is calmer and much easier to control if he decides he has his usual "husky energy" outbursts. And he and our 2 small dogs get along much better. It's changed the dynamic from one of stress and constant corrections to our husky puppies choices to a much calmer, structured, manageable, enjoyable husky puppy. I can, with full confidence, HIGHLY recommend this training for anybody looking for long term results and for an obedient, happy dog." - Liana Kvidera

I would recommend Midwest Dog Training to anyone that needs training for their dog. I am very please with the results. We have a three-year-old cocker spaniel that would often run away and take off, she was aggressive with my two dachshunds, and walking her was a workout with how much she pulled the leash. After the three-week board and train, she is like a different dog as far as following directions. She still has her silly goofiness and her sweet spirit. Walking her is enjoyable for both us, as she doesn't pull on the leash at all and will be right at my side no matter how fast or slow I am going. She is amazing with the come command. The first day we were home, she started to take off after a rabbit, and I said to come only once, she immediately stopped and came right to me. Very impressive for a dog that never obeyed a come command. Lastly, if she does start to get aggressive with one of the smaller dogs I say off, and she will stop right away, but the aggressiveness hasn't been happening as much since she went to the board and train. Overall I would very much recommend Chris and his company.
